New STGA Guide Trainers

WFTGA Trainers

This April eight Blue Badge guides qualified as World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations trainers which means they will be part of a team who can train other guides in Scotland.

Another six guides qualified as trainers for the various courses which are run by the STGA’s training arm. They will be working with a new batch of recruits for the next Blue Badge guide training course in the autumn which is accredited by the WFTGA.

STGA chairman John Duncan said that the high level of training that STGA members go through is key to its success. “We have our own booking service and clients know that if they book one of our guides they will be in good hands.”

WFTGA President Felicitas Wressnig said: “The World Federation is proud to know that by passing this difficult assessment in the essential skills of training tourist guides, more Scottish Tourist Guides are becoming involved in the World Federation’s key role of identifying and maintaining high standards of excellence in Tourist Guide performance world-wide”.
